Projects

Through Ecsite, members have the opportunity to participate in collaborative projects shaping the future of science engagement. Ecsite runs projects funded by the European Commission as well as initiatives in partnership with other organisations. These projects often allow the development of resources like toolkits or guides available to all.

Mr.Goodfish3.0 is a Horizon Europe-funded initiative spanning three years, dedicated to expanding the ongoing Mr.Goodfish programme throughout the European Union. It aims to promote sustainable seafood consumption through a large-scale awareness campaign and collaborative upgrades to the Mr.Goodfish app, engaging stakeholders across diverse European sea and freshwater basins.

CLEVERFOOD aims to mobilise European citizens, including children and youth, farmers, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, educators, knowledge brokers and policymakers to transform the European food system towards a more regenerative, resilient and plant-based food system.

STEAM Learning Ecologies (SLEs) is an EU-funded project (Horizon Europe) developing engaging open schooling-enabled science learning paths for all in learning continuums of formal and informal learning environments that are also focusing on inclusiveness.

The project will highlight the necessary conditions for bringing together all, rather than some, of the actors: formal, non-formal and informal education providers, as well as enterprises and the civil society – and giving all actors space and motivation to take initiative and central roles.

2022 - 2025

The overall aim of the project is to develop a STEAM roadmap for science education in Horizon Europe, i.e. a plan of action that will provide guidance to EU's key funding programme for research and innovation on how to encourage more interest in STEM through the use of artistic approaches, involving creative thinking and applied arts (the “A” in ‘STEAM’).

2020 - 2024

The main objective of WATER-MINING project is to contribute to the implementation of the Water Framework Directive and the Circular Economy packages by showcasing and validating innovative water resources solutions. The project has selected a number of innovative technologies that reached proof of concept levels under previous EU project. The demonstration case studies are to be first implemented in five EU countries (The Netherlands, Spain, Cyprus, Portugal and Italy) where prior successful technical and social steps have already been accomplished.
